Hello, my name is Vivien Well. I’m a great-grandmother, grandmother, mom, wife, sister and multi-media artist.
My husband and I made Aliyah (immigrated) to Israel from Chicago in 2008.
I have always been drawn to COLOR, no pun intended! I love the interplay of the myriad of colors, one to another.
In my 30’s, I decided to take a brush in hand and intuitively, taught myself the art of painting in acrylic and watercolor. Many of my early pieces, I thought, looked like art “mistakes”, but I was determined to do something with them. I blindly cut my “art” apart and reused them in collages. The collages, I thought, had more artistic integrity.

The second picture is called, The Garden of Eden. This picture was a result of cutting apart three large floral pages from an upholstery fabric book, and reassembling them into a different design altogether. Adam and Eve are featured, see if you can find them.
In the late 90’s when computers were being introduced into the home, I enrolled in college classes for graphic design. Knowing that I would probably be the oldest student in class didn’t deter me from enrolling, because the idea of computer graphics totally intrigued me. It was so novel and exciting for me. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Corel Draw were just being introduced into the marketplace for home use. And as they say, the rest is history.
Knowledge of graphic design enabled me and a leading registered dietician, to co-author a book called “Color Me Fit: Nutrition and Fitness for Kids.” The book is soon to be available on Amazon.
Now, fast forward to 2023, with an iPad Pro, an iPencil in hand, and hundreds of online classes under my belt, I, once again, am intrigued by the creativity process and demand for surface pattern design and print on demand sites in the marketplace.
I’m totally addicted.
